LVK’s Overseas Excursion to Iceland and Scotland
Lämpövoimakerho or ”Energy Engineering Club” head overseas in August-September 2022. A group of 14 enthusiastic energy engineering students accompanied by Assistant Professor Annukka Santasalo-Aarnio from Aalto University traveled to Iceland and Scotland for roughly two weeks. The purpose of the trip was to get to know the country and the latest advances on the field of energy! The destinations formed an interesting combination as Iceland is a small isolated country where renewable energy is abundant and covers the energy needs of the entire country whereas Great Britain is one of the largest energy consumers in the world and also the forerunner of offshore wind, for example.
