Shanghai – Day 1

Thursday was our last morning in Qingdao. We had a nice breakfast at the hotel and after that it was time to head to the railway station.

Our journey continued again and now it was time to go to our last destination in China – Shanghai. We took a train from Qingdao, which took approximately seven hours. Travelling with train in China was again very comfortable and nice experience. From train we had the opportunity to see many smaller cities (still often bigger than Finland) and different kinds of energy production (wind turbines, refinery, power plants).

The weather was cloudy and wet when we arrived to Shanghai. There was a bus waiting for us in the railway station. The bus drove us to the hotel and we left our luggages to the hotel rooms. We had eaten only some noodles in the train so all of us were already hungry. We left to walk streets of Shanghai and we found a nice restaurant. The menu looked delicious but the problem was the waiters spoke only chinese. Finally we made the order successfully and we got food.

After eating we headed back to the streets of Shanghai. We walked towards to the most famous building in Shanghai, Oriental Pearl Tower. We arrived bank of the Huangpu River and we saw the Oriental Pearl Tower first time from near. We saw also lights of Shanghai for the first time and the lights where amazing. It was marvelous fell asleep in the middle of Shanghai.
